What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe in one God,
      the Father almighty,
      maker of heaven and earth,
      of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
      the only Son of God,
      face to face with the Father before all ages,
           God from God,
           Light from Light,
           true God from true God,
      begotten, not made;
      of the same essence as the Father.
      Through him all things were made.
      For us and for our salvation
           he came down from heaven;
           he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
           and was made human.
           He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
           he suffered and was buried.
           The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
           He ascended to heaven
           and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
           He will come again with glory
           to judge the living and the dead.
           His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the Lord, the giver of life.
      He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
      and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
      He spoke through the prophets. He was poured out on all flesh to guide people into the truth revealed in Jesus. He is come to comfort mankind by revealing God as Father.
     We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
      We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
      and to life in the world to come. ~ Nicene Creed

About Man

Mankind does not possess within themselves the ability to give themselves eternal life. They were created to be clothed by God with the glory of His immortality, and to be seated in the Godhead as the children of God. All people are the offspring of God(Acts 17) but they are in need of strength from God to overcome the accusation of the evil one and his death to appear as the Sons and Daughters of God.

About Salvation

Salvation is the work of God and God alone. It rests entirely on the grace of God. God saw mankind suffering at the hands of sin and death and He felt so much love in His heart towards mankind He sent His Son Jesus to conquer the death that was tormenting mankind and taking them captive to sin through fear. Salvation is a gift received by believing on Jesus the once for all time sacrifice for sin. What is there for you to do? In the words of our Lord Jesus Christ “only believe”

Resurrection

Jesus is the first born from the dead. He is the firstfruit and surety of God’s inheritance in mankind. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, and all those who believe at his coming. He was raised from the dead in incorruptible human flesh never to be able to taste death or weakness again. The resurrection is the power of God to conquer sin and death in the flesh. It is the proof that God posseses the ability to overcome the death in the world and the death in our bodies. It is the hope of the gospel. It is the evidence that God who promised mankind eternal life before the world began cannot lie and will keep His promise. As the apostle Paul said if there is no resurrection our faith is in vain and we are still dead in sin.
